Glacier Cycle
The bottom part of the ice sheet at Dome Fuji is estimated to be that in the beginning of the Glacier cycle in Quaternary Era. The ice core analysis can throw light on the mechanism of Glacier cycle.

Temperature and CO2

The analysis of the 2503-m Dome Fuji ice core, obtained under the 1st Dome Fuji Drilling Project, reveal the good correlation between air temperature and concentration of CO2. Recently, the concentration of CO2 rise more than ever before because of the consumption of fossil fuel, nevertheless air temperature is declining since 10kyr before. In order to predict the climate change in the future, it is important to reconstruct the past climate change and to elucidate the mechanism of it.
