--------------- Data Format of Imaging Riometer ------------- 1. Beam scan The imaging riometer at Santa Maria has 4 receivers and 16 (4 x 4) antennas. Phasing system produces 16 (4 x 4) effective beams. While the phasing system provides 16 output signals, four of the signals are switched into the four receiver units successively. By switching the phasing system outputs four times, 16 beams are sent to the receiver set every second. The 4 receivers simultaneously sample 4 signals from the north-south aligned beams (numbered as CH1...CH4 from north to south).
