Current data in JARE observation period

The person maintained the seismic equipment through the year is basically given priority for using any data obtained at Syowa Station with time limit of one year. These data are transmitted to NIPR and then to be stored in the data library server (POLARIS), and can be obtained upon request by Internet service and/or UNIX media (i.e., DVD, CDR, DAT, 8 mm-tape, etc.) with a permission of the PDC/NIPR related staff. If anybody wish to use the early stage of period data, please contact to kanao (at) nipr.ac.jp concerning the availability.

Archived data after one year from aquisition

All kinds of archived data (arrival times, hypocenter, waveform data by analog & digital, reports) after one year from the JARE-observation period are stored and available from ftp server in data library system (POLARIS) of PDC/NIPR.

Arrival times and hypocenters detected at SYO are reported to the National Earthquake Information Center of the United States Geological Survey (NEIC/USGS), together with the International Seismological Center (ISC). You can make retrieve the SYO's data from these centers as well.

Waveform data can also be offered from the Ocean Hemisphere Project Data Management Center of the Earthquake Research Institute (OHP/ERI), the University of Tokyo, together with PACIFIC21 center of the Institute For Research on Earth Evolution / Japan Marine Science and Technology Agency (IFREE/JAMSTEC).

After few years later, waveform data are also sent to the Data Management System, the Incorporated Research Institutions for Seismology (IRIS/DMS). Then you can download the waveform data from any related centers above.
