National Institute of Polar Research
Arctic environment research center & Polar research science database

What's new?

  • 3D ion velocity and conductivity data were updated. (August, 2010) New!!
  • All data (UHF, VHF and ESR) were updated and png files were added to the database. (July, 2010)
  • New VHF and ESR data were added to this database. (April, 2010)
  • This top page was renewed. (March, 2010)
  • Ionospheric conductivity data were prepared and released. (February, 2010)
  • All analysed data were updated and a problem of the ion velocities offset (see below) was fixed. (February, 2010)
  • Ion velocities should decrease by 7.0 m/s (for all ESR data) and 3.5 m/s (for all KST UHF data) at all altitudes. (October, 2009)
  • Summary plots for E-region study were added in the data finder. (July, 2009)
  • All the data (ESR, KST UHF and VHF) were updated. (July, 2009)
  • Tromso VHF data after 2000 was updated. (February, 2009)
  • Lists of KST/ESR/IPY data were added. (February, 2009)
  • 3D ion velocity data were added to this page. The velocity was derived with tristatic method (kst) or monostatic method (tro/esr). (January, 2009)
  • ESR IPY long-run data were added to the Data finder and ESR data pages. (February, 2008)
  • Data finder was prepared for the event selection
  • (Collaboration with Dr. Y. Miyashita in JAXA). (November, 2007)
  • Kmz files were added to the ESR and Tromso UHF data pages, to plot EISCAT data on Google Earth (Collaboration with Dr. A. Saito in Kyoto University). A movie file is here. (October, 2007)
  • Realtime pictures of the ESR 32m antenna and Tromso VHF antenna were put on this web page. (September, 2007)
  • ESR and KST data have been updated since March 2007.
