yData Summaryz

Ionospheric absorption of cosmic radio noise has been observed with a standard riometer (relative ionospheric opacity meter) at Syowa Station, Antarctica since February 8, 1967. The observation has been performed with a frequency of 30MHz since the begining. Observations with frequencies of 10, 20, 40, 45, and 50MHz were held in some periods.
The receiver of the standard riometer has a center frequency of 30 MHz and the band width of 7.5 kHz. It is connected to a vertically directed five-element Yagi antenna whose elements are oriented in the east-west direction. Caribration signal is applied from a reference noise diode to the riometer with power corresponding to 20000 K, 16000 K, 12000 K, 8000 K, and 4000 K once a day.
