This is a textile called "Bingata",
one of famous cloth in Okinawa by Mr. Tinen Sekigen
who uses Japanese fans as his motif here.
"SENSU" (or "Ougi") means a fan in Japanese.
Yes, SuperDARN FOV's below look like fans, don't they?!
Syowa East and South SuperDARN HF Radars' FOV is just "SENSU"
We call it "Syowa SENSU" radars...
